BRIO, founded by Steve Rosenberg in 2002, is devoted to the performance of medieval and Sephardic music. The group has played in Southern France as well as on tour in the USA, and they appear regularly at the Piccolo Spoleto Festival in Charleston, South Carolina.

José Lemos is a rising star in the opera world. Since winning the International Baroque Vocal Competition in 2003, he has appeared with William Christie’s Les Arts Florissants throughout Europe, as well as with the Zurich Opera, Boston Early Music Festival, Göttingen Handel Festival, Seattle Early Music Guild, and Magnificat. He also sings with The Baltimore Consort and other early music groups.

Steve Rosenberg is Chairman of the Music Department at the College of Charleston, and the Director of the Charleston Pro Musica. Before settling in Charleston in 1985, he lived and performed in Israel, France, and New Zealand, and toured the world as a recorder player with the popular French early music group Les Menestriers.

Mary Anne Ballard has devoted her life to playing the viola da gamba and other early stringed instruments, as well as to directing college groups. She tours and records with the Baltimore Consort, and Galileo’s Daughters, and she teaches at the Oberlin Baroque Performance Institute. In 2008 she was Music Director of the Play of Daniel at The Cloisters.

Danny Mallon, percussion, is an active freelancer, recording spots for TV, radio, and film scores, and playing all styles of popular music with artists such as the Johnny Rodgers band. His early music credits include Chatham Baroque, Ensemble Galilei, and Jordi Savall’s "Le Concert Des Nations." In his solo show “Drums through the Ages” Danny explores a vast array of percussion and sings in overtones.
