The French composer, Joseph Bodin de Boismortier (1689-1755), wrote a great deal of popular music. He was a composer of instrumental music, cantatas, opera ballets, and vocal music. The transverse flute was his favorite instrument and he considerably extended its repertory. Schultz, called "among the most flawless artists on the baroque flute" by the San Jose Mercury News, and "flute extraordinaire" by the New Jersey Star-Ledger, is solo and Co-Principal flutist with the Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra and performs with other leading early music groups such as Musica Angelica of Los Angeles, Tafelmusik Baroque Orchestra, Chatham Baroque, and American Bach Soloists.
